In my city they’re closing down a lot of stores recently. Recession and much lower prices that are found online are to blame as far as I understand. It’s really kind of sad, since the town mall will be pretty much half empty by Christmas. They closed down the only photography shop in town last year. After the winter, they’ll close down the only bookstore we have.
Makes the mood in the centre quite gloomy.
People only buy necessities like food and haircuts nowadays, hence the reason why we have a million pizzerias and hairdressers in Härnösand. Åhléns, a shop which sells pretty much everything except food, used to have a quite big music section for being such a small town. Now they’ve just got one stand with maybe 40 CDs of popular music. The rest is classical. I don’t know what else to say than that it sucks.

“State of the market is rocky,” says the art museum. Apparently.

With my emigration getting all too close (I leave tomorrow, as a matter of fact) I thought I’d take some photos around the centre. Something to look at while weeping of homesickness in Mediterranean hell.

Look, it’s fall! And don’t let the sunshine fool you, it’s cold as hell.

Looking out of a dirty window at the job I worked my last day at today. It’s definitely an interesting mix of emotions you have, walking out of a place you’ve worked at (on and off) for three years. It was a relief, it was exciting and it was a bit weird too, since I wasn’t really a nobody there anymore.

Very nice pictures. I wish I had such a good camera to take with me to Japan. Apparently I’ll have no camera.
